SOFIA HEFTERSMITH (b. 2001) is a Los Angeles-based, self-taught multidisciplinary artist native to Southern California. Raised in a household of artists, she left formal education during her junior year of high school to commit fully to her studio practice. Since her first solo exhibition at eighteen, Heftersmith has maintained a disciplined and continuous body of work.

Currently, her paintings center on figurative characters she constructs and curates. Drawing from vintage erotica, circus iconography, California counterculture and DIY aesthetics. These influences converge into a visual language that is distinctly her own.

After a brief period in New York City, Heftersmith now lives and works in Los Angeles.
